BMW R80/7 1978

Bonjour tout le monde,

J'ai une BMW R80/7 de 1978 en provenance d'Angleterre.
Je suis en train d'essayer de l'expédier à Lyon depuis Hong Kong avec mon français limité .

The bike was purchased from the UK but it is now in Hong Kong.

The cheapest is shipping to a french harbour.
In a specially built case. So you have to dismantle handlebar plus front wheel. 
Or in a container ( more expensive, but you do not dismantle nothing and build no case)

Then by road transport until Lyon. 
Motorcyle transporters will only take rolling bikes. 
If its in a case it is standard freight, more expensive than specialised bike transport .
  
Closer harbour is Marseille or Fos sur mer. 

Search "transport moto " on google.  Most understand english

I will look into it. 

The point I am stuck at is in fact the paperwork. Since it is modified physically (but nothing has been done to the engine), do you think it will be difficult to get the attestation from FFVE, or have it licensed? My nightmare would be to have it shipped over and realise I can't get the paperwork for France, and have the modification returned to the original look..

You'll never have a certificate of conformity from FFVE if your bike is heavily modified.
It used to be possible, it's not anymore.
But according to the picture, the main issue would be about the seat. It's an easy job to fit a 2 seater seat.
Why don't you simply fill in the file on the FFVE website before you ship it to France? You'll know.

Yes I can change to a two seater seat easily! 

I tried to do that too online yes. While I fill out the information, they ask for "Document 846-A des douanes", which I believe I can only get after I ship it over. That is correct right?

Pourquoi faire une carte grise collection ?

D'Angleterre il n'y a pas de soucis de demander une carte grise normale en France,

 il suffit de présenter les papiers qui vont bien à l'ANTS...

Merci jpd! Je vais y réfléchir. En fait, j'étais un peu perdu dans le processus. Mais je pensais que la carte grise de collection me permettrait d'avoir une plaque d'immatriculation noire!

Moi, je commencerai a la passer en carte grise normale et plus tard en carte grise collection éventuellement.

Ce sera plus simple et pas besoin de photos pour l'ANTS...(moto modifié)

J'étais vraiment confus par le système haha, surtout à cause de mon français. Merci pour les suggestions !!
