I would love to have similar work done on mine.... Yet I just love her the way she is, with the patina, the scars, the various dings and all her idiosyncracies. The essence of owning and running a classic bike as far as I'm concerned.
In my experience there is no emotion emanating from a bike that has been restored to "brand new out of the showroom" status. It's a splendid object, just like any 2022 brand new bike out of the showroom....
But that's just me....

I totally agree with you 

Je suis assez d'accord avec ça, garder l'authenticité 
Quand j'ai refait ma S silver smoke, la peinture du cadre n'était pas neuve mais ne nécessitait pas d'être peint, j'ai laissé
La patte de phare avec le frottement de la clé de contact, idem, c'est son histoire, ses cicatrices

Mais je comprends tout autant celui qui veut mettre tout a neuf

Bof... faut pas confondre les nobles cicatrices du temps et la crasse.
